Taking Stock While Sheltering in Place...Music Record 45's

The idea to take stock of my collection of music record 45's came to me after viewing several seasoned, acclaimed musicians on YouTube who've treated us to free performances from the intimate confines of their homes while currently sheltering in place.

Here is my musical contribution.

Most of the earliest 45's were likely purchased from the numerous Hollywood record stores that dotted Hollywood Boulevard in the 1960s to early 1970s.  For a couple of the earliest, Dennis Weaver's "The Chicken Mash" and the theme song to "Astro Boy" - I have no idea where they were bought from.

This first group are among my favorite of the 45s

Steve Martin's "King Tut" was performed on Saturday Night Live
"Chico and the Man' was the theme song for the short-lived TV show

"I Can Dream About You" and others to follow were
included in motion picture soundtracks

Two Neil Diamond records

The two above and ones to follow were purchases inspired by listening to
KJLH radio station (Kindness Joy Love & Happiness)

KC & the Sunshine Band and others - from the Disco era

A variety of 45s from the collection

The 1980s brought new, vivid 45 covers -
although the Rolling Stones' "Angie" was from 1973

Like many whose livelihood have been affected, Gary's photographing assignments on construction sites have been interrupted.  L.A.'s first modular high-rise at 4th & Spring was held up, Gary said, because the modules were being supplied from China.
